How to propose customized requirements for a customized universal automatic laminating machine
In film bonding and laminating processes, "universal" often only represents the basic bonding ability of the equipment. What truly affects yield and production capacity is whether the equipment can fit your product size and process requirements. Many companies only care about price and brand when purchasing customized universal automatic laminating machines, but overlook the key point: whether the requirements are clearly stated. The more accurate the requirement description, the more closely the manufacturer's proposed solution fits the production line, and the less rework is required during acceptance. So, how should a qualified customization requirement be presented?
1、 First, think clearly about the boundaries between your product and process
The first step in proposing customized requirements is not to directly ask the manufacturer for a quotation, but to first clarify one's own situation. The following information is the basis for the manufacturer's evaluation plan and is indispensable.
Product specifications: The external dimensions, thickness, tolerance range of the product, and whether frequent changeover is required for different sizes. For example, some production lines require the bonding of 10-32 inch film materials, and the difference between the solution and only making a single size is significant.
Material properties: What type of film material (Film, OCA, protective film, explosion-proof film, etc.) needs to be bonded, whether the bonding object is glass, LCM or other substrate, whether the material is soft and easily deformed, these directly determine the bonding method.
Accuracy and Capacity: What are the requirements for alignment accuracy, what is the daily production target, whether to pursue high yield precision bonding or prioritize mass production based on capacity.
Site and production line conditions: installation space size, power supply conditions, whether it is necessary to connect with the front and rear processes, to avoid equipment being unable to land after arrival.
2、 Clearly explain the requirements for the bonding process
The laminating process is not just about "pressing", the equipment configuration corresponding to different processes is completely different. When making demands, it is recommended to clarify the following aspects so that manufacturers can choose suitable functional modules based on them.
Alignment method: Is CCD visual automatic alignment correction required, or is manual or mechanical positioning sufficient. For products with high precision requirements, CCD alignment and UVW platform are usually required.
Bonding method: Roller bonding is suitable for flat products, while vacuum bonding is commonly used for curved surfaces or ultra-thin soft films. The difference in mechanism and cost between the two is significant.
Auxiliary functions: Do you need supporting functions such as static electricity removal, cleaning, heating, and defoaming? Do not wait until the equipment is in place before adding them.
Taking mature solutions in the bonding industry as an example, for the precise bonding of 10-32 inch film materials onto the surface of Glass LCM, CCD automatic alignment correction combined with roller bonding is usually used to balance yield and production capacity. This type of functional combination is more common in automatic laminating machine solutions, and when requesting, it can be directly stated that "CCD alignment+roller bonding is required".
3、 Replace verbal descriptions with written lists
Oral communication can easily lead to missing information and misunderstandings. Suggest compiling the requirements into a written list, including product drawings, material parameters, process requirements, production capacity targets, and acceptance criteria, and sending it to the manufacturer for confirmation. The clearer the list, the better the manufacturer can provide a quotation and delivery time that is closer to reality, and it is also easier to sign technical agreements in the future.
Tip: The requirement list should avoid vague expressions such as "high precision" and "high efficiency", and provide quantifiable values as much as possible, such as fitting accuracy, alignment accuracy, and single piece cycle time, so that manufacturers can evaluate whether the equipment can meet the standards.
4、 Pay attention to the sampling and scheme confirmation process
The biggest risk of customizing equipment is the disconnect between the "paper plan" and the "actual effect". The formal customization process includes a sampling step, where you use your real materials and products for trial bonding to verify the bonding effect, yield, and production capacity meet the standards. After the sample is approved, both parties will confirm the final technical solution to avoid exposing problems during mass production.
5、 Advance agreement on acceptance criteria and after-sales service
After the delivery of customized equipment, the acceptance criteria should be negotiated in advance, including yield indicators, cycle time, and stable operation time of the equipment. At the same time, pay attention to the manufacturer's after-sales capabilities: whether they provide installation and debugging, operation training, spare parts supply, and fault response, which directly affect the stable operation of the equipment and the efficiency of the production line in the later stage.
Clear thinking, clear writing, and clear verification of requirements are the key to the successful delivery of customized automatic laminating machines. If you are customizing a fully automatic laminating machine for a specific size or process, you may want to bring product drawings and process parameters, communicate in-depth with equipment manufacturers with integration capabilities, and translate your requirements into acceptable technical solutions.
