Before a fixed steam cleaning machine is written into a site plan, the buyer needs real numbers rather than marketing language. This article collects the specifications published on the product page of the PowerDe HW02 steam cleaner, explains what each line means for planning a wash point, and lists the data the page does not publish — so you know exactly what to request in writing before you order.
What the product page lists the machine for
The HW02 is a fixed (stationary) steam machine: it is installed at one point and connected to power and water, rather than driven or pushed around a yard. The product page describes it switching between dry and wet steam, with a vacuum cleaner included for interior work. The applications the page lists are:
- Vehicle exterior cleaning at gas stations and parking lots
- Interior vacuuming and disinfection
- Engine compartment steam cleaning
If your intended task falls outside this list, ask the manufacturer to confirm suitability in writing before you plan work around the machine.
The specifications as published
The figures below are reproduced from the HW02 product page, stated as the page states them. Confirm the final values against the datasheet of the unit you order:
- Model: PowerDe® HW02 (220V)
- Heating power: 6 kW
- Steam temperature: 160°
- Vapor pressure: 0.8 MPa
- Tank: 80 L, SUS304 stainless steel
- Dimensions: 1,200 × 800 × 1,200 mm (including handles)
- Water inlet: tap water, 4-point internal-tooth joint (1/2 inch)
- Working modes: dry steam / wet steam, with vacuum cleaner
- Working voltage: 220 V
- Protection functions listed on the page: leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage, water-shortage and high-voltage-explosion protection
What each line means for your plan
Power and voltage. The heater line decides whether the machine can run at your site at all. A 6 kW element on a 220 V single-phase supply draws roughly 27 A while it is heating — beyond an ordinary general-purpose outlet. Plan a dedicated circuit with correctly rated protection, and have a qualified electrician verify the installation against local requirements.
Steam temperature and pressure. The 160° steam temperature and the 0.8 MPa vapor pressure describe one working condition, not two independent settings: inside a steam boiler, the pressure sets the temperature at which the water boils. Two practical consequences. When you compare datasheets across machines, confirm whether a pressure figure is gauge or absolute, because the same number can describe different states. And 160° steam is handled very differently from 60° hot water — lance discipline, operator training and safe storage belong in the plan from day one, not after the first incident.
The 80 L tank. The tank holds 80 L and is made of SUS304 stainless steel. What the page does not give is how quickly the machine consumes water while producing steam, so the working time per fill cannot be calculated from published data alone. Ask for the steam consumption rate (kg/h) or the expected working time per fill, then plan the refill radius and the drain position around that answer.
Footprint and access. The published dimensions are 1,200 × 800 × 1,200 mm including the handles. The handles matter: the machine must pass doors, corners and gates with them fitted. Measure the route from the delivery point to the final position, and leave clearance around the installed unit for access to the tank, the controls and maintenance points.
Water inlet. The machine is fed from a tap-water connection with a 4-point internal-tooth (1/2 inch) fitting. Confirm a water point within hose reach of the installed position, and protect the machine from freezing where it stands in an unheated area in winter. Where the mains water is hard, scale collects inside the boiler and steam path over time, so ask the supplier about water treatment and a descaling schedule before commissioning rather than after the first service call.
Dry steam and wet steam. Dry steam carries less moisture and leaves far less runoff, which suits interior work and sites where water disposal is limited. Wet steam puts more heat into contact with the surface, which helps on caked-on road grime and oil film. The included vacuum supports the interior cleaning and disinfection work the page lists. Tell your supplier which mode your team will use most; that answer shapes the drainage and ventilation plan.
Protection functions. The page lists leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage, water-shortage and high-voltage-explosion protection. These protect the machine. They do not replace a correctly rated site circuit, and they do not protect the operator — training and personal protective equipment still decide that.
What the page does not publish
The published specification covers the machine's core working point well, but several figures a layout depends on are not on the page. Request these in writing before you finalize anything:
- Steam consumption rate (kg/h) and working time per 80 L fill
- Machine weight, for floor loading and delivery planning
- Steam hose and wand lengths, which set the reachable cleaning radius from the fixed position
- Rated current and the circuit requirements the manufacturer recommends
- Noise level, if the machine will run indoors or near occupied areas
- Duty-cycle guidance: how long the machine can run continuously and how it recovers between shifts
These figures drive staffing, ventilation and scheduling more than any of the headline numbers, and they are the difference between a datasheet and a working plan.
Turning the published numbers into a site plan
A short sequence that works:
- Match your tasks to the listed applications — vehicle exteriors, interiors, engine bays. Anything else gets written confirmation from the manufacturer first.
- Check the three utilities: a dedicated 220 V circuit for a 6 kW load, a tap-water point, and a drain within reach of the installed position.
- Measure the delivery route and the final position against the published dimensions, handles included.
- Send the list of unpublished figures above to the supplier and get the answers in writing.
- Trial the machine on your own vehicles against agreed acceptance checks before committing to additional units or a second site.
A published specification is the start of a purchase, not the end of it. If you would like the full datasheet for the HW02 or written confirmation of any figure above, send your site conditions and cleaning tasks to the PowerDe team through the contact page.
