The PowerDe PWD01 is a mobile steam cleaning machine built for indoor garages and the narrow parking areas where fixed wash bays do not fit. It offers dry steam, wet steam and hot water modes, moves under its own power, and runs on a 48 V battery supply with a 4.5 kW PTC semiconductor heater. That combination — high temperature, high pressure, a battery and a self-propelled chassis — is exactly why a short safety routine matters. The checks below take a few minutes and follow the machine's own safety design: leakage protection, short-circuit protection, high-temperature protection, high-voltage protection, water-shortage protection and high-voltage explosion-proof construction.
Check the battery and electrical supply before power-on
The PWD01 operates on a 48 V mobile battery. The version listed without battery ships without one, so the battery and charger come from the customer, which makes them the operator's responsibility to inspect:
- Look over the battery case, terminals and cables for cracks, corrosion or loose connections before every shift.
- Charge only with a charger matched to the battery, in a ventilated place, and check the charger cable for damage before plugging in.
- Confirm the machine's leakage protection and short-circuit protection work as expected. If either trips repeatedly, stop and find the cause instead of resetting it again.
- Inspect power cables for cuts or crushed sections. The high-voltage protection and explosion-proof heating design guard the electrical system; they are not a substitute for sound cabling.
Check the water supply, tanks and vacuum line
The machine carries an 80-litre clean water tank and fills from a tap-water inlet fitted with a 4-point internal-tooth joint. Water-system checks protect both the operator and the heater:
- Fill the clean tank with tap water as specified, and check the inlet joint and hose for cracks or leaks before starting.
- Verify that water-shortage protection cuts the 4.5 kW heater off when the tank runs low. A heater left running without water will overheat and wear out sooner.
- Check the high-pressure water gun, nozzle and hose for wear or split seals, and replace worn parts before they fail mid-job.
- Clear the vacuum hose and flat nozzle, and empty the sewage tank, so suction works from the first pass.
Protect the operator from heat and steam
Dry steam, wet steam and hot water all leave the nozzle hot enough to scald bare skin in moments:
- Wear heat-resistant gloves and eye protection, particularly when working overhead or close to engine compartments and machinery.
- Never point the nozzle at hands or feet, and keep a safe distance from anyone standing nearby.
- If the high-temperature protection shuts the machine down, let it cool and look for the trigger — a blocked nozzle or a low water level are the usual causes — before restarting.
Survey the workplace before driving and spraying
At 2,500 × 900 × 1,050 mm, the PWD01 is designed to be driven and stopped at any point during the job. Treat that mobility the way you would treat a vehicle's:
- Walk the area first: people, parked vehicles, drains, steps and low-hanging pipes.
- Test driving, stopping and braking in a clear space before work begins.
- Keep the machine on level ground whenever it is parked, and make sure it is fully stopped before walking away.
- In indoor garages, keep air moving, because steam adds heat and humidity quickly in closed spaces. Clean one section of floor at a time so nobody crosses a wet, slippery surface unnoticed.
Finish the shift with a shutdown check
- Empty the tanks as described in the operating manual, and coil hoses and cables without kinks, checking them for wear as you store them.
- Charge the battery according to the charger's instructions, away from standing water.
- Write down anything unusual — a protection trip, an odd noise, a leak, a slow heater — and report it before the next operator starts.
The built-in protections on the PowerDe PWD01 steam cleaner are there to back up good habits, not replace them. A two-minute walk-around before power-on and a short shutdown check at the end of the shift keep the operator safe and the machine ready for the next day.
