A supplier who only quotes a price has not told you whether the equipment fits your site. Before PowerDe recommends a model, our engineers ask for a set of working-condition details, because cleaning and automation equipment is selected by the environment it runs in, not by catalogue order.
1. What is being cleaned, and what is the soil
We start with the surface and the deposit. Vehicle bodies, engine compartments, machine tools and food-service surfaces all need different treatment, and the soil decides the mode. Light dust responds to dry steam; baked-on grease and cutting fluid usually need higher temperature together with mechanical action. The industrial steam cleaning equipment in our Cleaning Equipment Series is grouped by duty, so we ask which group your task belongs to before naming a model.
Please send a photo of a typical dirty surface, and say how often that surface is cleaned today. A daily wipe-down and a quarterly deep clean are different jobs even on the same machine.
2. How much area per shift, and how many operators
Throughput drives machine size. We ask for the number of units or square metres finished in one shift and the number of people available for the task. A small fleet washed by one operator in a narrow garage is served by a compact mobile unit; a fixed station working continuously needs a larger tank and a mains supply. Our Fixed Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HW02 page publishes figures we use for this comparison: 6 kW heating power, 160°C steam temperature, 0.8 MPa vapour pressure and an 80 L SUS304 tank, with a footprint of 1,200 × 800 × 1,200 mm including handles.
If your volume exceeds one machine's working cycle, we propose two stations on a rotation rather than an oversized single unit.
3. Where the machine will stand, and what utilities are there
Working-area details decide the power and water arrangement. We ask for ceiling height, aisle width, floor drainage, distance to a water tap, and the supply available at the position. The HW02 runs on a 220 V working voltage and takes tap water through a 4-point internal-tooth joint (1/2 inch). A battery-fed hand-pushed unit such as the PowerDe HMW3 is listed at 48 V with a 50 L clean water tank, dimensions L1150 × W520 × H1030 mm, and a 4.5 kW PTC semiconductor heater, which suits areas where cabling is awkward.
Send a floor sketch with the cleaning position marked. We then say whether the machine can be moved into place, whether the hose reaches, and whether the drainage handles the rinse water.
4. What restrictions apply to water, chemicals and downtime
Every area has rules, and we need them in writing. Ask yourself: is a chemical detergent permitted, is run-off water recoverable, and how long may the line be stopped? High-temperature steam is often chosen where detergent use is limited, because it works with far less water than a hose. For production areas we also need the maintenance window, since equipment should be scheduled around the cleaning cycle, not the other way round.
Where a documented process already exists, share it. We match our recommendation to your procedure instead of replacing it with an untested one.
5. What protection and safety features the area requires
Steam and hot water carry real risks, so we ask who operates the machine and what training they have. The HW02 page lists leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage, water-shortage and high-voltage-explosion protection; the battery-fed driving-style models list leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage and water-shortage protection. We check those items against your site's electrical and safety requirements rather than assuming a match.
Also tell us whether the area is used by the public, by patients, or by food handling staff, as this affects both the machine choice and the cleaning sequence.
6. What needs to be customised, and what is standard
Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment works on standard units and on integration. Our main business areas include intelligent cleaning equipment, semiconductor process equipment, thin-film solar and perovskite equipment, automated production-line solutions and non-standard equipment, plus engineering services covering product development, hardware testing and manufacturing automation. That means a request such as mounting a cleaning station inside a transfer line can be handled as an engineering task.
Tell us which part of the task is fixed and which part can move. We then separate off-the-shelf supply from design work, and quote them as separate line items.
What to send before we recommend
For a first recommendation, prepare six items: the surface and soil description with a photograph; the shift volume and operator count; a floor sketch with the working position and utilities; the written restrictions on water, chemicals and downtime; the safety requirements of the area; and your target delivery date and budget range. With those details we can name a model, or explain why a standard model is wrong for your site.
