What the HMW2 listing does state

The PowerDe HMW2 is a mobile active-water cleaning machine built for indoor garages and narrow outdoor parking spaces, where a fixed bay is not available and a full-size truck mount cannot fit. Our listing for it appears in two versions, and that distinction alone causes more ordering errors than any specification figure, so it is worth stating first. The Driving Style Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HMW2 (without battery) is supplied without a battery, and the Driving Style Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HMW2 (including battery) is supplied with one. Choosing between them is a site decision, not a preference.

The published operating details for the HMW2 are these:

  • Three operating modes: dry steam, wet steam and hot water. This is the practical difference between the HMW2 and some of our steam-only units — hot water extends it to rinse-heavy work and to cooler, thicker deposits.
  • Mobile, driving-style configuration intended for indoor garages and narrow outdoor parking spaces — the working assumption is that the machine moves to the vehicle, not the vehicle to the machine.
  • Protection functions stated on the listing: leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage and water-shortage protection.

Detail 1: which power source the crew will actually use

With the battery version, the machine works anywhere on the site, and the shift becomes a runtime-planning exercise. Without the battery, the machine depends on an external supply at the point of work, and the site's power layout becomes part of the quotation. Before ordering, ask the site three things: where the crew cleans from, what supply exists at that point, and how long one continuous cleaning run has to last. If the answer to the last question exceeds what a single charge covers on your round, either specify the battery version with a change-out battery or move to a mains-fed machine such as the Fixed Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HW02, which runs on 220 V with 6 kW of heating power and an 80 L SUS304 tank.

Detail 2: how the three modes will be used on the round

  • Dry steam for vertical and overhead surfaces, engine-bay areas and seams, where heat is wanted without flooding the bay floor.
  • Wet steam for encrusted wheel arches, sills and underbody splash zones, where moisture plus heat softens the deposit before it is lifted.
  • Hot water for the rinse-heavy stages and for loosening loose grime before a steam pass, which shortens total time per vehicle.

Assign a mode to each stage of the wash in the work instruction, rather than leaving the operator to choose mode by feel. Mode switching on the same wand is what saves the walking time; a crew that settles on one mode underuses the machine they bought.

Detail 3: what the site must provide, and what the machine carries

Water is the other half of the operating picture. The HMW2 carries its own clean-water tank, so the crew's shift is limited by tank capacity plus refill points on the site. Confirm the refill point, its fitting and its distance from the cleaning position before the first shift, because an unusable tap is the usual cause of a machine sitting idle at the end of the afternoon. Compare the site layout against the alternative mobile units in our PowerDe cleaning equipment series before you commit: the HMW3 hand-push variant, for example, is listed with a 50 L clean-water tank, a 4.5 kW PTC heater and a tap-water inlet with a 4-point internal-tooth fitting, so a site that can supply a matching tap can run a hand-push unit continuously where a self-contained mobile unit would need refills.

Detail 4: what is not on the listing, and should be confirmed in writing

The HMW2 product page does not publish several figures that a buyer normally needs, and we would rather you ask for them than have the crew assume them. These should be confirmed with us at quotation for your actual shift pattern:

  • Battery capacity and working runtime per charge for the battery version, and the charger's output and recharge time.
  • Clean-water tank capacity for the HMW2 specifically, and water consumption per hour in each mode.
  • Steam temperature and pressure in each mode, since dry and wet steam differ materially at the surface.
  • Hose and wand lengths, accessory set, machine weight and overall dimensions for the HMW2 variant you are ordering.

Those figures decide whether one machine covers a site or two, and whether a round needs a change-out battery. Tell us the number of vehicles per shift, the bay or parking layout, and what power and water the site offers, and we will confirm the variant, the configuration and the accessories before you order — rather than leaving the crew to discover the gap on the first day.
