When a steam cleaning machine is rated for 48 V battery operation, the battery becomes part of the specification rather than an accessory. For the PowerDe HMW2, the battery option changes the site utilities you need, the workflow you can run, and the way the machine is serviced. The criteria below are the ones a purchasing team should confirm before requesting a quotation.
1. Match the power source to the working site
The HMW2 is a driving-style mobile cleaning machine that runs on a 48 V battery, with 4.5 kW of semiconductor (PTC) heating power. That load is too high to draw from a standard wall socket in most parking areas, and running an extension cable across a public forecourt is rarely permitted. If the washing position has no three-phase supply, a battery is the practical answer. If the bay already has stable 220 V power at the point of use, ask our engineers whether a fixed machine is the more cost-effective choice.
Two variants are published: the HMW2 with battery and the HMW2 without battery. The battery variant arrives ready for a 48 V supply; the variant without battery is supplied for customers who fit or reuse a battery pack from their own fleet. Confirm which of the two you are quoting so the delivered scope matches your site.
2. Verify the duty cycle against real washing volume
Write down the number of vehicles washed per shift, the average time at the wand, and how long the machine stands idle between jobs. A single machine that keeps 4.5 kW of heating power available must cover the steam demand of the busiest hour, not the average. Where the shift pattern exceeds what one 48 V pack can support, ask us about spare-pack rotation or a battery swap routine before the order, not after commissioning.
3. Confirm the battery interface and charging arrangement
Our published specification lists the working voltage as a 48 V mobile battery, and for the variant without battery the pack is customer provided. Before signing off, confirm three items with us in writing: the connector and cable arrangement between pack and machine, the charger output and charge time, and the physical space and ventilation needed for charging in the garage or depot. These details are the most common cause of a machine that arrives but cannot be put into service on day one.
4. Check the safety package, because a wet site is an electrical site
The HMW2 pages list leakage protection, short-circuit protection, high-temperature protection, high-voltage protection, water-shortage protection, and high-voltage explosion protection. For a battery machine used around water, ask for the protection functions to be stated in the quotation and matched to your local electrical regulations and the requirements of your site insurer. The PTC semiconductor heater is part of the same argument: it is a safety design choice, and buyers should be told why it matters.
5. Check access, footprint, and the 60 L water tank
The machine measures 1275 mm long, 570 mm wide and 1185 mm high and moves under autonomous drive, so it can be driven and stopped inside a narrow bay. Walk the route from the washing position to the water point and the charging point with those dimensions. The 60 L clean water tank is filled from a tap through a 4-point internal-tooth joint; confirm the tap thread on site, because a mismatch stops a commissioning visit. Hot water, dry steam, and wet steam are delivered through a high-pressure water gun with a nozzle, so agree the nozzle set for the surfaces you actually clean.
6. Compare the whole range before you decide
If the budget is tight, an equivalent model without a battery lowers the delivered price while leaving the option of a customer-supplied pack. If the operator walks the machine rather than riding it, our hand-pushed steam cleaning machine is a different class of equipment for tight and indoor areas. Where the machine stays in one place with mains power, a fixed steam cleaning machine removes the battery from the maintenance list altogether.
7. Buy from the manufacturer, not from a reseller description
PowerDe cleaning equipment is built by Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment Co., Ltd in Shenzhen. Buying direct means the parameters above can be confirmed and, where needed, customized for your line and your site. Send us your shift volume, photographs of the washing position, and your power and water points, and we will confirm which HMW2 variant and which accessories fit that duty.
Tell us your washing volume and site conditions and we will send a specification and quotation for the HMW2 variant that matches them. Contact us at sales@powerde.net or +86 13023198376.
