How can a facility plan cleaning for vehicle maintenance bays?

A quoted purchase price is the easiest number in a cleaning-equipment budget and the least useful. On a battery-equipped mobile unit, the real cost is decided by things nobody puts on the quotation: how many machines one operator can finish in a shift, how long the battery carries the job before a recharge breaks the rhythm, and what happens to the schedule when that recharge lands in the middle of a round.

The driving style battery version of the PowerDe PWD01 is built for exactly that kind of work—indoor garages and narrow outdoor parking spaces, where a machine has to travel between vehicles rather than tow them to a fixed bay. This is how we suggest you cost it before you buy, and how we price it on our side.

Cost per vehicle, not per machine

Take a normal week of work and divide everything by the number of vehicles cleaned. Include operator hours, water, power, consumables, and the downtime when the unit is parked and recharging. That figure is comparable across methods; the machine price is not. A slightly more expensive unit that clears more vehicles per shift usually wins the per-vehicle number, which is the one your customers and your own accounting both respond to.

The battery version changes the arithmetic

We list the PWD01 in two variants. The PowerDe PWD01 with battery carries its own power supply, so the cleaning round is limited by battery capacity rather than by cable reach or by where a mains outlet happens to be. The PWD01 without battery needs a power source at the point of work, which is cheaper to buy and can be the right answer for a fixed row of bays with installed supply.

The honest cost question is therefore about your site, not about our catalogue. Count the distance between your work points, check where supply is available, and see whether a recharge can be scheduled into a gap in the round. If it cannot, the battery variant is what stops you paying an operator to stand and wait. On a mobile hot water and steam cleaning machine, that pause is the largest hidden line in the operating budget.

What to put in the model

  • Operator minutes per vehicle. The dominant cost on most cleaning rounds, and the one a mobile unit reduces by removing travel and repositioning.
  • Water. Steam and hot-water modes use far less liquid than a hose, and less liquid means less run-off to contain and dispose of.
  • Power per shift. Measure it at the charger over a week rather than calculating from rated power.
  • Battery and consumable replacement. Ask for the replacement interval and price for the battery pack and wear items before you sign. A consumable you cannot price is a cost you cannot control.
  • Service response. Downtime on a single-machine operation stops the work; on a two-machine operation it only slows it. That is a cost argument for fleet size as much as for any feature.

Match the mode to the job, because mode changes cost

The PWD01 range runs dry steam, wet steam and hot water. Dry steam suits surfaces where you want heat with little moisture; wet steam and hot water carry more liquid but release heavier soiling faster. Choosing the wrong mode costs you repeat passes, and a repeat pass is a full extra labour charge. We would rather know what you are cleaning—exterior panels, interiors, engine compartments—so the mode recommendation is right at the quotation stage instead of discovered on the job.

How we price PWD01 work

On our side the price follows the same four inputs: the site (garage, forecourt, parking area), the daily vehicle count, whether mains supply is available where you work, and the service level you expect if a unit goes down. We quote against that, not from a flat product sheet, and we will tell you when the non-battery version is the better buy rather than sell the dearest variant.

If you want a costed comparison of the battery and non-battery PWD01 against your current method, send us your site layout, your daily vehicle count and the hours you spend on cleaning now. Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment will size the configuration and put real numbers against it: contact us or write to sales@powerde.net.
