How can businesses evaluate steam cleaning for commercial ovens?

A product demonstration turns a specification sheet into evidence. Buyers of commercial steam cleaning equipment can watch water temperature, steam delivery, and operator effort at work on their own kind of soil, and they leave with a written record instead of a verbal promise. The steps below cover the preparation, the live test, the checks, and the follow-up decision for a PowerDe demonstration.

Set the objective before the date is booked

Write one sentence that names the decision the demonstration should support. A trial aimed at choosing a machine for one line needs different evidence from a trial that supports an OEM programme.

Choose the people who must attend. The buyer, the operator who will run the machine, the maintenance lead, and, for food sites, the hygiene manager each ask different questions, and their answers belong in the same record.

Agree the duration and the access the host needs. A test on a running line requires a window in the production plan, a machine that can be released, and permission for photographs.

  • the soil to be removed, with a photograph of it in its untreated condition
  • the surface materials around that soil, including gaskets, painted panels, and wiring
  • the time window available and the machine down-time allowed
  • the utilities on site, including the available supply voltage and the water source

Match the machine class to the job

PowerDe builds steam cleaning machines in several formats, and the format decides where the demonstration can take place. A floor model that runs on a normal single-phase supply can be wheeled to the equipment. A fixed installation has to be demonstrated on the vendor test bench, with your part brought to it.

  • The Fixed Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HW02 is rated at 6 kW, delivers steam at about 160 °C and up to 0.8 MPa, carries an 80 L tank in SUS304, and runs on a 220 V supply with a tap-water inlet. It suits a set cleaning bay where one station serves several machines.
  • The PowerDe HMW2 steam cleaner covers mobile work on machinery and workshop floors, where the equipment cannot be moved to a station.
  • The hand-pushed hot water and steam cleaning machine class adds a hot-water stage for sites that need both in one pass.

Where the standard catalogue does not fit, a demonstration is also the way to test a customized steam cleaning equipment brief, because the deviation is checked against your part rather than argued in an email.

Prepare the test area and the safety record

Steam at 160 °C and 0.8 MPa is a scalding hazard and a noise source, so the demonstration needs the same controls as routine work. Confirm that everyone in the area has eye and hand protection, that the floor can stay drained, and that the machine is isolated from any process that must not see water.

  • Mark the work zone and keep uninvolved staff outside it for the whole session.
  • Check that electrical cabinets, bearings, and open cable entries are covered or excluded from the spray path.
  • Record the supply used, the water source, and the ambient conditions alongside the machine settings.

Define the pass criteria and score them live

Agree the criteria before the first pass, while nobody has an interest in the result. Write them as observations rather than opinions, and let both sides score the same line at the same time.

  • Soil removal: which areas are clean, and which still carry residue after one pass.
  • Cycle time: the minutes taken for one machine, counted from start to finish by one operator.
  • Utility use: the water consumed and the electrical supply required during the test.
  • Surface condition: no damage to paint, seals, or labels, checked with the photographs taken beforehand.
  • Operator load: the number of staff required and whether the posture and reach are sustainable for a full shift.

Write the decision into a short report

Close the demonstration the same day, while the equipment is still available for a repeat pass. One page is enough: the objective, the machine and settings used, the scored criteria, the unresolved questions, and the next action with an owner and a date.

Two questions usually decide the purchase. Can the machine complete the task inside the time the site can give it? Does the result hold when the operator running it is not the vendor's engineer? If either answer is unclear, schedule a second pass with your own staff before the trial is closed.

Send the report to the same people who attended, and attach the photographs. That record becomes the acceptance document for the delivery, and it tells the vendor which part of the duty cycle needs a change before the order is placed.
