What a configuration review is meant to decide
On a hand-pushed machine the operator supplies the traction. That single fact drives every other decision: how far the unit must travel, whether the floor slope and thresholds are workable, which supply arrangements are acceptable, and which items on the datasheet actually matter for your site. A configuration review is the point where you put those site facts in front of the manufacturer and get the machine changed before it ships.
PowerDe lists hand-pushed and mobile steam cleaning machines in its Cleaning Equipment Series, and lists customized steam cleaning equipment as a service. Use both: send your conditions as text and photographs, and ask for a written configuration in return. A hand-pushed steam cleaning machine is the least forgiving class to buy from a catalogue, because its limits are set by the floor, the operator and the supplies at your site.
Before you write: the information to collect
A request that says "we need a steam cleaner for our facility" gets a catalogue back. A request that answers the questions below gets a specification.
- Floor and route: floor type and joints, the distance from storage to the work area, slopes, drain grates, thresholds, and the narrowest doorway or lift the machine must pass.
- Work pattern: how many continuous working minutes per shift, how many shifts per week, and how much of that is the same surface repeated.
- Soil and surface: what the soil is, what the surface is made of, and which areas must not be sprayed directly (seams, bearings, electrical enclosures).
- Supplies on the spot: nearest water tap and its type, nearest power outlet and its rating, and whether drainage exists where you actually clean.
- Storage and handling: where the machine parks, whether it has to be lifted, and who maintains it.
Photographs of the route and of the dirtiest surface usually settle more questions than a written description. A short video of one cleaning pass helps just as much.
What to state about the machine itself
State the class and model you are looking at, or ask the supplier to choose. For the HMW3 the site publishes: 1150 mm long, 520 mm wide and 1030 mm high, with a 50 L clean-water tank, a tap-water inlet with a 4-point internal-tooth fitting, dry and wet steam modes, and a 4.5 kW PTC heater. Match those numbers against your door widths, lift, and storage bay before anything else is discussed; a machine that cannot reach the work area has no configuration that will save it.
The same model family is listed both with and without a battery, so state which you want and ask the supplier to confirm what runtime per charge and what recharge time you should plan around. Those two numbers decide whether one machine covers your shift or you are buying a second one.
Steam temperature and steam pressure at the nozzle are not published for this model. Put them on your request list as required answers, not as assumptions taken from a similar unit. The fixed PowerDe HW02 page does publish figures (160 degrees Celsius at the working temperature and 0.8 MPa vapor pressure), and it is reasonable to ask whether they apply to a hand-pushed model or to the machine being configured for you.
Ask for these items in the written answer
- Model and variant: model number, battery or no battery, tank material and volume.
- Measured performance: steam temperature and pressure measured at the nozzle, heater power, and the duty the machine is intended for.
- Supply assumptions: how the tank is refilled in practice, how long a full tank lasts at the settings you will use, and the recharge arrangement.
- Reach and handling: hose length, wand length, nozzle set, and the fittings supplied with the machine.
- Protections and failures: how the machine behaves on water shortage, over-temperature, and leakage.
- Wear parts and service: which parts wear, recommended replacement interval, price and lead time, and who services the unit after the warranty.
- Language and documentation: manual language, wiring and spare parts list, and markings on the machine.
- Scope of supply: unit price for the configured variant, what is included, shipping terms, lead time, and payment terms.
Ask for these as a single document, not as chat replies. A configuration that exists only in messages is not something a second buyer or a maintenance technician can check later.
Decide the trade-offs you are willing to accept
A battery unit moves freely but adds weight and a recharge cycle that has to sit inside your shift. A mains-dependent unit keeps working as long as there is a supply, but the cable length then decides your route. A larger tank means fewer refills and more to push. Neither option is correct on paper; the correct one depends on the distances and time windows you collected.
If your route includes long, open floor with no water or drain close by, say so in the request and ask whether the hand-pushed variant is the right class at all, or whether a fixed or driving-style unit fits the site better. A supplier who is configuring for you should answer that question with a change of model, not with a price.
How to send the request
Use the contact page or write to sales@powerde.net and put the site facts, photographs, and the request list above in one message. Ask for a written configuration with the model, measured figures, and the maintenance items named. Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment describes itself as an intelligent cleaning equipment manufacturer that handles customized configurations and technical support, so the questions above are ordinary business for them.
When the configuration comes back
Check it against the conditions you sent, not against the sales page. Every item you asked for should have a number or a sentence next to it. Ask for a list of exclusions: what the configured machine is not intended to clean, and which surfaces, seams or fittings should be kept away from the nozzle. Then run one controlled test on your own floor: one surface, one pass, measured by the time it takes, the water it uses, and the drying time you observe. Compare that result with the figures you were given, and put any gap back to the supplier in writing before the purchase order goes out.
