How can buyers verify the published specifications for dry-steam cleaning mode?

When a buyer shortlists a steam cleaning machine, the datasheet is the document that ends up in the purchasing file. If the published specification is vague, the quotation comparison stalls; if it is detailed, the buyer can match the machine to their site without another email round. Below is the practical check list we use when reviewing a published product specification, using our own model pages as worked examples.

1. Confirm the published numbers carry units and test conditions

A bare figure such as “160°” or “0.8 MPa” is not verifiable on its own. A usable specification states the value, the unit, and the condition at which it was measured. The Fixed Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HW02 page, for example, lists 6 kW heating power, 160° steam temperature, 0.8 MPa vapour pressure, an 80 L SUS304 tank, and 220 V working voltage. Each of those can be compared directly against a site’s power supply and tank-refill interval, which is exactly what a comparison sheet needs.

Where a supplier page omits the test condition, ask for it in writing. Temperature at the boiler and temperature at the nozzle are not the same number once the hose is under load.

2. Match the stated protection features to the site’s electrical reality

Safety items in a specification are easy to skim past. Read them as a checklist against your own installation. The HW02 page lists leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage and water-shortage protection, which tells an operations manager what the machine is designed to shut down for. Battery-powered units in the same range carry their own items, so check whether the offer you receive is the variant “including battery” or “without battery” before comparing prices — the two listings on our site are separate products for that reason.

3. Check dimensions and mobility against the actual working space

Footprint decides whether a machine is usable. The HW02 specification gives 1,200 × 800 × 1,200 mm including handles, which suits a fixed bay at a service station or parking facility. Where the working space is a narrow indoor garage or a tight outdoor parking area, the driving-style PowerDe PWD02 steam cleaner listings describe dry-steam, wet-steam and hot-water modes built for exactly that kind of access. A buyer who cannot physically drive or push the unit to the job should not be comparing it at all.

4. Read what is missing, and ask for it

On our hand-pushed HMW3 page, dimensions, heating power, tank volume, water inlet type and working supply are published. Steam temperature, pressure, battery capacity, runtime and hose length are not printed there. That gap is normal — no product page publishes everything — and it is the buyer’s job to close it. Send the supplier the same short list of missing fields and compare the written answers side by side rather than comparing marketing claims.

5. Verify the application described is the application you have

Specification pages also define intended use. The HW02 page describes vehicle exterior cleaning at gas stations and parking lots, interior vacuuming and disinfection, and engine-compartment cleaning. The HMW3 listings describe cleaning and disinfecting hospital beds and medical machinery. If your duty cycle sits outside the described use, raise it before ordering instead of assuming the machine will adapt. Our PowerDe cleaning equipment category lists each model with its own description, so the intended use can be checked model by model.

A quick verification routine before you order

  1. Request the specification as a written document, not a screenshot or a chat reply.
  2. Confirm every performance number has a unit and a stated measuring condition.
  3. Match voltage, water inlet and footprint to your site before evaluating cleaning performance.
  4. Ask for the fields your competitor quoted that your offer omits.
  5. Run a trial on your own soil type, not on a demonstration panel.

Specification verification is not a formality. It is the step that turns a list of models into a defensible purchase decision, and it takes one working day if the supplier publishes complete data.

If you are evaluating a fixed or mobile unit for a fleet, forecourt or facility cleaning programme, send us the site’s power supply, water access and working area, and we will confirm which published specification actually applies.
