A short brief that only lists the machine name, output temperature and a price will not tell a procurement team what they are buying. Hot-water mode is one of several cleaning functions on a mobile steam unit, and each one behaves differently on a shop floor. Ask for the following items before comparing quotes, and the difference between two similar-looking machines becomes easy to see.
What hot-water mode is supposed to do
On the hot water and steam cleaning machine series from PowerDe, three functions are listed separately: dry steam, wet steam and hot water. Dry steam carries little free water and works on surfaces that must not be soaked. Wet steam adds moisture for loosened soil. Hot water delivers a heated stream at lower pressure than a pressure washer, which suits light soil, rinse-down after steaming and work on surfaces where a high-pressure jet would drive water into seals or electrical housings.
If the brief does not state that the machine has an independent hot-water function, ask whether hot water is a real mode or simply the residual warm water left in the tank after the boiler is switched off. Those are not the same thing, and the operating result is different.
Mode switching and workflow
Ask how a operator moves between dry steam, wet steam and hot water, and how long the change takes. A switch that needs the unit to cool down interrupts a line of vehicles waiting at a bay. A switch operated from the handle or a control panel on the machine keeps the sequence running. Write down the intended sequence for your own site — for example steam on engine bays, hot water for the rinse, then dry steam to finish a panel — and check that the machine can follow that order without waiting.
Water supply, tank volume and running time
The brief should say how the machine is filled and how long it runs on one fill. PowerDe lists an 80 L SUS304 tank on the fixed Fixed Steam Cleaning Machine PowerDe HW02, and a 50 L clean-water tank on the hand-pushed HMW3. Ask for the same figure in litres on any model you are quoted, together with the water inlet connection — the HW02 page specifies a tap-water inlet with a 4-point internal-tooth joint, 1/2 inch. If your facility has softened or reclaimed water, confirm that the machine accepts it; scale behaves differently in a boiler than in a hot-water circuit.
Running time matters more than tank size on its own. Ask the supplier how long hot-water mode runs from a full tank at the temperature you plan to use, and whether the unit can be refilled mid-job without losing pressure or heat.
Power source and battery options
PowerDe lists the same mobile cleaning platforms with and without a battery: the PWD02, PWD01 and HMW2 are each offered in a variant including a battery and a variant without one. The HW02 fixed unit runs on a 220 V supply with 6 kW heating power. So the brief needs to answer three questions for your site:
- Is the machine battery-powered, mains-powered, or is it being delivered without a battery that you must source separately?
- What supply is available at the bay — a 220 V outlet, a charging point, or nothing at all?
- What is the working voltage of the cleaning circuit, listed as 48 V battery on the HMW3 specification?
A machine ordered without a battery in a location that has no nearby outlet will not run, and that is a specification error rather than a delivery problem.
Mobility: drive, push or fix it in place
The product pages describe the PWD02, PWD01 and HMW2 as driving-style machines for indoor garages and narrow outdoor parking spaces, and the HMW3 as a hand-pushed unit. A fixed machine such as the HW02 is a permanent installation at a wash point. Send the measured aisle width, the tightest turning radius, the slope of the ramp and the distance between the water connection and the cleaning point. Those measurements decide which of the three platform types can reach the work at all.
Protections and safety documentation
The HW02 page lists protection against leakage, short circuit, high temperature, high voltage, water shortage and high-voltage explosion. HMW2 and PWD02 pages list comparable items. Ask which protections are fitted as standard on the configuration you are buying, and request the matching documentation: declarations, wiring details and the instruction manual in the language your operators read. A brief that names protections without stating which apply to the quoted configuration leaves the buyer unable to verify them.
What the unit is actually being bought to clean
PowerDe's cleaning equipment series covers car wash and detailing businesses, commercial cleaning, public facilities, industrial maintenance, kitchens, hotels, property cleaning and medical equipment cleaning. The HW02 page names vehicle exterior cleaning at gas stations and parking lots, interior vacuuming and disinfection, and engine-compartment cleaning. The HMW3 pages name hospital beds and medical machinery. Write the surfaces, soil types and daily volume for your own operation into the brief and let the supplier map them to a specific model rather than choosing from a catalogue number.
Accessories, service and spare parts
Ask for the accessory list in writing: lance lengths, nozzle options, hose length, brush heads and any vacuum function. The HW02 page lists a vacuum cleaner alongside dry and wet steam; not every model carries that function. Then ask what happens when a part wears out — which consumables need regular replacement, where spares are stocked, and what the response commitment is for a machine that is out of service during a trading day.
Customisation when nothing on the list fits
Where a standard model misses the requirement, customized steam cleaning equipment is a route worth pricing. Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment Co., Ltd. states that it works on customized configurations, equipment R&D and technical support. Put your tank volume, voltage, mode selection, accessory set and site constraints in the brief, and the enquiry can move straight to an engineering conversation instead of several rounds of clarification.
A short list to send with the enquiry
Before sending a request, confirm that these values are present: hot-water mode as an independent function, switching method and time, tank volume in litres, water inlet type and water quality accepted, heating power and working voltage, battery included or not, dimensions against your measured aisles and ramps, protection functions for the quoted configuration, accessory list, spare parts and service terms, and the cleaning tasks the machine is expected to perform. A brief carrying those items gives you quotes you can place side by side.
PowerDe is based in Shenzhen; the site gives the address as 101, Building 1, Shangzhijia Creative Park, No. 4 Zhiyang Road, Zhangge Community, Longhua District, Shenzhen, with contact at sales@powerde.net. Send the completed brief to that address, or through the contact page, to start a specification review.
