What should be included in an acceptance check for the PowerDe PWD01 mobile steam cleaner?

When a crate holding a PowerDe PWD01 driving style steam cleaning machine arrives at your depot, the paperwork often says more than the machine does on that first day. The unboxing, the checklist and the short run test are where you decide whether the unit is ready for your car wash bays or whether something needs to be resolved while the shipment is still traceable. The following acceptance routine is what we recommend buyers follow before they sign the delivery note.

Before you open the crate

Photograph the outer packing from several angles while the carrier is still present. Note the carton condition, any crushed corners, and whether the moisture indicators have changed colour. Compare the carton quantity and net weight with the packing list. If the case has been opened, resealed or wet, record it on the delivery receipt instead of the loading dock conversation. This one minute protects every claim you may need to file later.

Item count against the packing list

Lay out everything on the pallet and tick it off against the list in the documents pouch. For the PWD01 the list normally covers the main machine body, the drive frame with its handles, the steam lance and gun, the water inlet fitting, the charger or battery set, the consumable nozzles and brushes, and the operator manual in English. The PWD01 is sold as a mobile active-water cleaning machine in two variants: PowerDe PWD01 including battery and PowerDe PWD01 without battery. If you ordered the version with battery, confirm that the battery pack and its charger are actually in the crate; if you ordered the version without battery, confirm that the missing items match the quotation rather than assuming they were lost in transit.

Visual and mechanical inspection

Walk around the machine with a torch. Check the shell panels for cracks, the wheels and castors for flat spots, and the hose ends for kinks or cracked couplings. Turn the drive wheels by hand and listen for grinding. Inspect the heating housing and the water tank for dents, and confirm that no packaging foam has been left inside the air or water ports. A shipping dent on the tank or heater housing is not a cosmetic detail: note it, photograph it and tell us before you fill the tank.

Electrical and battery checks

On the battery variant, charge the pack fully before the first run and record how long a full charge takes; that number becomes your baseline for runtime in the field. Check that connectors seat firmly and that no cable insulation is abraded. On the mains-connected setup, confirm the supply voltage and outlet rating on the site match the rating plate on the machine, and that the outlet is properly earthed. The PWD01 series is built around a battery working supply for the mobile version, so verify that your charging point matches the charger supplied rather than improvising an adapter.

Water system and the three cleaning modes

Fill the clean water tank with tap water through the specified inlet fitting and watch the joints for weeping under pressure. Then run the machine in each mode it is sold for. The PowerDe cleaning equipment PWD01 is specified for dry steam, wet steam and hot water, so all three should respond at the controls without error indication. Dry steam should come out as a thin, hot jet; wet steam carries visible moisture; hot water should flow steadily from the same lance. If one mode is weak or absent while the others work, stop and report it: that pattern usually points to a valve or hose that shifted in transit, not to a fault you caused.

Protection functions and safety devices

Run the protective checks that the product pages describe, including leakage, short-circuit, high-temperature, high-voltage and water-shortage protection. On a unit fitted with these devices, a trip should happen cleanly and the machine should be recoverable without damage. Test them with the machine empty of water only as far as the manual allows, and never defeat a protection to make the machine run during the test period. A machine that will not trip when it should is a machine you do not want in a wet wash bay.

A short work trial before you sign

Pick one real surface on your site, a dirty engine bay or a soiled panel, and clean it as your staff would. This is the moment to judge steam delivery, hose reach, handle comfort and how the machine moves in the tight space you actually have, since the PWD01 is positioned for indoor garages and narrow outdoor parking areas. Note the time the trial takes and whether the result matches what your team expects to sell to customers.

Documents and follow-up

Keep the packing list, the invoice, the manual and your photographs together in one folder, and register the serial number on the machine so any later support request can be matched to the unit quickly. If the PWD01 is part of a larger fleet order, run this acceptance routine on every unit rather than one sample, and compare the trial results between them. Anything that fails the run test should be reported with the serial number and your photos while the shipment is still inside the claim window.

A planned check takes about an hour and removes most of the arguments that follow a machine delivery. If you want the parameter sheet for the PowerDe PWD01 steam cleaner before your shipment arrives, or you are deciding between the mobile PWD01 and the fixed PowerDe HW02 steam cleaning machine for a fixed wash bay, contact our team and we will send the specification and the acceptance checklist for your site.
